I live in Iceland
You start a sentence in Icelandic at the shop or at work, and people switch to English. After a while you stop trying.
My 1-on-1 lessons give you a place to speak where nobody switches. Many union education funds pay back Icelandic tuition, and several have approved my lessons. Rules vary by fund, so I'll help you check yours.

Most Icelandic courses start with the textbook. Declension tables, grammar rules and long vocabulary lists, with the teacher doing most of the talking.
Nobody gets a chance to speak the language.
People sit through a whole semester and STILL freeze when someone at the bakery speaks to them in Icelandic.
I teach the other way around. We start speaking in the first lesson, using the words and phrases people actually use, and the grammar comes in slowly and gradually.

Hæ hæ, I'm Óskar Bragi
I grew up in Seyðisfjörður in East Iceland and I've taught Icelandic since 2014. It started with one-on-one lessons, then came the YouTube channel, and later the online courses.
Since then I've taught over 1,000 students from more than 30 countries, and more than 43,000 people follow my teaching online.
When I'm not teaching, I'm with my daughter, out in nature, or swimming in the sea.
